Our Story

Welcome to Matthews Flower Farm!

We are Shawn and Carie Huston, the proud owners of Matthews Flower Farm.

Originally established as Matthews Iris Garden in 1947, our story began when Carie’s Uncle Charlie, at just 7 years old, gifted iris bulbs to his grandmother, Anna Matthews, and planted them in her backyard. Those irises flourished, sparking a floral legacy that continues today.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sounds like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.

For many years, Uncle Charlie lovingly bred and sold irises from the farm, dedicating his time to cultivating unique and beautiful varieties. His first iris, planted in honor of his grandmother, still blooms on our farm today as a living tribute to our roots.

While our farm was initially known for its irises, it grew to include rare and colorful daylilies over the years. Today, Matthews Flower Farm is a place of growth and regeneration, where we are working to restore the soil and cultivate an array of vibrant blooms. While we aren’t selling flowers just yet, we’re excited to share them with you in the near future.

In the meantime, we are delighted to offer fresh farm eggs, lovingly produced by our free-range hens.

Looking for a picture-perfect backdrop? Matthews Flower Farm is the ideal spot for your next photo shoot. From our charming, historic 100+ year-old farmhouse to our vibrant gardens and rustic farm scenery, there’s beauty to capture at every corner.
