Our Story

Rooted in family. Growing forward.

Matthews Flower Farm sits on generational land first tended by our great-grandparents in 1918. For years the fields rested quietly, and later the farmhouse watched over unkempt rows and wild vines.

A Legacy That Still Blooms

This land belonged to my great-grandparents, and the soul of it shows up in the everyday.

A big part of that legacy is Uncle Charlie, who once sold irises from this very farm. He’s the quiet heart of this place —the one who planted the first seed.

His love for growing and sharing beauty helped the values I hold close today.

A Return to the Land

After years of the fields resting quietly, our family felt called to bring the farm back to life. What had once been tended daily had grown still, but the roots were always there.

In 2021, we began restoring the land — clearing, planting, rebuilding, and dreaming again. It wasn’t just about growing flowers. It was about honoring the generations before us and creating something our own children could one day look back on with pride.

What began with a single iris has grown into a renewed season for our family and this land we love.

What the Farm Is Today

Today, Matthews Flower Farm is a place of beauty, gathering, and simple joy. The fields are planted with intention, the farmhouse stands with its original character, and each season brings something new to discover.

We’ve watched families wander through the blooms, children run between rows, and moments be captured that will hang in homes for years to come. There is something special about slowing down here — about stepping onto land that has been loved for generations.

More than anything, this farm is about connection. To the past. To each other. And to the simple beauty that flowers bring into our lives.
